Nothing Like Chocolate Documentary Film – Website and Promotion
Project Description: Nothing Like Chocolate is an exciting documentary film by Kum-Kum Bhavnani, narrated by Susan Sarandon. The website we developed for the film (nothinglikechocolate.com) features trailers, background information, and ways to support the film. The project exceeded its goal by more than 50% on Kickstarter.com.
The film includes interviews with Michael Pollan, Vandana Shiva and others who discuss the chocolate industry, global economy and the meaning of fair trade.
A synopsis of the film: "Deep in the rain forests of Grenada, an anarchist chocolatier seeks solutions to the problems of a ravaged global chocolate industy, finding hope in an industry entrenched in enslaved child labor, irresponsible corporate greed, and tasteless, synthetic products. NOTHING LIKE CHOCOLATE tells the compelling story of Mott Green, who founded of the Grenada Chocolate Company, leasing 100 acres of land from a neighboring estate and establishing an organic chocolate-making cooperative. The film looks at this revolutionary experiment, focusing on how solar power, appropriate technology and activism merge to create a business whose values are fairness, community, sustainability and high quality. "
Our work for this project includes branding, poster and postcards, press kit, domestic-made tote bags, and more. The film premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation, and was highly rated by audiences.
