A New Energy Direction – Bold Local Solutions to a Global Problem
Project Description: A New Energy Direction, produced by the Community Environmental Council, provides a blueprint for guiding local policy makers in implementing renewable energy programs and policies. We designed the report, including numerous charts and graphs to illustrate how renewable energy sources and conservation measures will be instrumental in achieving a fossil-free future.
We are already witnessing a massive national and global effort to bring new technologies online to replace fossil fuels, such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, and wave power. All of these industries promise huge economic benefits. The 120-page detailed report outlines a proposed blueprint for Santa Barbara County to become "Fossil Free by '33."
